The trendy modular kitchen has become a popular addition in urban Indian houses since it can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each homeowner. When compared to traditional carpenter-made kitchens, modular kitchens by home interior designers stand out as superior options because of their ergonomic design, increased capacity for storage, and user-friendliness. Because modular kitchens are produced in factories, they need to be meticulously designed before construction can begin. This is because once manufacturing has begun, no changes can be made to the design of the modular kitchen.

Prepare the Layout.

Choose a plan for the kitchen that assures excellent workflow, such as straight, L-shaped, or U-shaped, depending on the amount of space available. The law of the golden triangle states that the main point of the kitchen should be the area that is defined by the distance between the stove, the refrigerator, and the sink. The ideal distance between these three points is between 4 and 9 feet.

Select the Home Appliances for the Kitchen.

During the design process of the kitchen, choose the appliances to be installed so that they can be included in the plan according to the exact dimensions of the equipment. Install enough plug points for all of the equipment. Choose a chimney that has a strong suction power and finalise the positioning of the hob, combustibles and chimney unit so that the odours can be eliminated and a smoke-free environment can be created.

Optimise Storage.

Perform a home storage needs assessment and think about purchasing drawers and cabinets in a variety of sizes to accommodate various items, such as electronic equipment, cooking pots and pans, cutlery, and other utensils. Consider purchasing a separate pantry cabinet for the purpose of keeping all of the dry items used in the kitchen. Increasing the height of the overhead cabinets such that they reach the ceiling will maximise the available vertical storage space. It is important to take note that the cabinet top will gather quite a bit of dust if there is a space between the overhead cabinets and the ceiling.

The Right Mix of Colours.

Choose either a single tone of colour or a two-tone colour scheme with colours that contrast with one another. Because a glossy finish is more likely to reveal fingerprints and smudges, you may want to think about getting kitchen cabinets with a matte surface.

Install Lighting Under the Kitchen Cabinets.

The lighting in the ceiling is what provides the majority of the light in the kitchen, yet, the shadows created by the above cabinets cause the countertop to have varying degrees of darkness. It is strongly suggested to create provisions for under-cabinet lighting that brighten the countertop so that there is sufficient task lighting for preparing meals and cooking. This can be accomplished by installing lights in the cabinets themselves.

Accessories for the Modular Kitchen

Choose from a wide variety of accessories, such as tall units, cutlery organisers, bottle pull-outs, pull-out baskets, corner units and accessories for under the sink, and then incorporate them into the design of the kitchen.
